Our client is a boutique fund management company specializing in managing portfolios in the global resources sector. The company has a successful track record in developing and managing funds. In order to expand the investment team it is therefore seeking to appoint a
Fund Manager (m/f) and/or Analyst
This function encompasses the following range of responsibilities and deliverables:
- Developing the investment strategy
- Identification, evaluation and selection of investment opportunities
- Constructing and managing a portfolio (in terms of sector/geographic exposure, liquidity, risk profile etc)
- Promotion of funds to (qualified) clients
In addition to your fund management responsibilities, your role will be to add value to the investment management process through both fundamental company specific analysis as well as top down input. The latter will include input on general macro economic developments as well as on specific commodity and resource markets and subsectors.
The ideal candidate should have experience in managing long only global natural resources equity portfolios (oil and gas, mining, agriculture, etc). Good knowledge of alternative i.e. new energy/resources sectors as well as of emerging markets would be an advantage. Strong financial modeling and valuation skills are equally important. This position requires regular travel. Multilingualism (English, French, German, Spanish) is a further advantage.
